Welcome to St Oswald and St Edmund Arrowsmith's Website

Welcome to St Oswald and St Edmund Arrowsmith's Parish Website. There is a long history of Catholic worship in this part of Lancashire. The Church (both old and new) has stood on this site for over 100 years and has been a targeted destination for thousands of Pilgrims who come to venerate the relic of the Holy Hand - the Hand of local Martyr and Saint, Edmund Arrowsmith. The Parish thrives with the support of two outstanding schools, The Primary School, St Oswald, and the Secondary school, St Edmund Arrowsmith.

Children are an important part of the Parish. There is a thriving children's liturgy group which takes place during the Sunday 10.30am Mass and, in addition, there is a well established Guiding organisation incorporating Rainbow, Brownies and Guides.

There is a strong Sacramental preparation programme - "With you Always" which follows the official Liverpool Archdiocesan programme.

The Parish also has a unique project "SOCDHOC" which supports schools projects overseas, and an amazing choir which can be heard every Sunday at the 10.30am sung Mass.

We hope you enjoy our website and should you wish to leave a message please email the Parish on
