Today, the Church honours one of the Twelve Apostles; Saint Bartholomew,
whom Jesus handpicked to form His Church and to go forth to the ends of the earth to share the Good News.

Due to the nature of his martyrdom, Bartholomew is the patron saint of tanners, plasterers, tailors, leatherworkers, bookbinders, farmers, housepainters, butchers, and glove makers.
He was flayed(skinned alive) and beheaded there for converting the king to Christianity.
